It finally happened on Wednesday night, and we are excited. We had been planning the exclusive premiere of Righteous Kill, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, 50 Cent and Donnie Walhberg, amongst otherss, since September. Montecasino was buzzing with excitement from our guests, as they reveled to the entertainment we provided them. The readers of YEAHBO.DOT.NET, celebrities, MTV and Trojan guests showed up in numbers to make yet another of our exclusive preview screenings an absolute success.
Our partners for the night, Trojan, provided us with free condoms which were included in the goodie bags they contributed to. Also inside the goodies bags were workout vouchers, sponsored by Virgin Active in Cresta, as well as other merchandise including sweat towels, caps, keyrings, pens, and water bottles. Nu Metro also pitched in with DVD's, t-shirts and caps. Two record distribution companies, Universal Music and Gallo Music Record, came on board and supplied us with CD's that we also gave away. These included 50 Cent and G-Unit latest albums from Universal; and Plies and Gym Class Heroes from Gallo. Thank you very much to Virgin Active and their staff in Cresta for the goodies (Jenni, you are a star. You too Buhle).
The night went pretty well. Sizwe Dlomo made a speech and reminisced, relaying to the guests that his very first interview with the media after becoming MTVbase's first ever Mzansi VJ was with YEAHBO.DOT.NET. You know we are exclusive like that. Please check the interview out HERE.
It was really a fun night. Thanks to Minki from Nu Metro for hooking us up, and helping us out with the organization of the event. Thanks to the guys from MTV for their support. They featured the event on Sizwe's show Player on the 13th of October and gave us a mention when they gave away tickets to their viewers. Thanks to Sizwe for the kind words during his speech. And once more, thanks to all the guests that braced us with thier presence. To Trojan, all our gratitudes for your involvement. The staff at Nu Metro Montecasino, you were of great help too. We appreciate Nu Metro's involvement and their support of our ideas. And most of all, thanks for keeping YEAHBO.DOT.NET running and growing. This year alone, we are over 1.3 million hits already.
