Jazz heavyweights Spyro Gyra, Oliver Mtukudzi and Take 6 top MACfest bill

Jazz music lovers rejoice. The names of the first half of the musicians that will appear at this year’s Mpumalanga Arts and Cultural Festival (MACfest) were unveiled at a press conference at the Cultural Main Hall, eMalahleni (Witbank) last week.

Appearing as headline acts at the festival that takes place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November is United States (US) group Spyro Gyra , Zimbabwe ’s Oliver Mtukudzi a Cape Town-based Mozambican guitarist Jimmy Dludlu, Madala Kunene and Grammy award winners, Take 6. While these three main acts are from three different countries, they have one thing in common; the ability to get audiences to move their bodies and get onto the dance floor.

I would have really loved to be there, especially to see the Brian McKnight co-produced outfit, Take 6 perform live, I've been a fan of their soothing accapella harmonies for a while now. Unfortunately, there is a prior personal engagement for the very same weekend. For all those that can make it though, go and enjoy the beautiful sounds of all the artists that will be providing the best and rare entertainment, personally for you.

Check YEAHBO.DOT.NET for more details on the above bands, as well as more on the event information.
